I‘ve hired many digital agencies, and worked with even more. Rarely do I find one such as Hactar. More than an eye for sharp design and UX, they give us the outsider's view of us and go beyond by really ‘getting’ our values and our vision.

Case study

BeyondMe is a charity dedicated to promoting generosity in leadership. In its simplest form, BeyondMe is a framework that helps young professionals give generously of their time and expertise, providing support, guidance and insight to grassroots organisations all over the world.

Hactar was invited to rebrand Young Philanthropy, deliver an 18 month design and development roadmap, and build a new website, and custom CRM system for the BeyondMe team.

Most platforms of this nature fall somewhere between a traditional content-led publishing site, and a platform that needs to accept and process donations. BeyondMe sits firmly at the application end of this spectrum. Its functionality is unique, so it was built from the ground up using only lightweight frameworks.

Our experiences in the social good sector have shown that by being completely up front when it comes to financials tends to save everyone an awful lot of wasted time and effort (again).

BeyondMe were candid, forthcoming, and ambitious with their business requirements and budget. They certainly haven’t held back on ambition, and Hactar have helped them reach some important milestones.

At last count there were 118 teams across 18 businesses. From over 500 applications, BeyondMe have vetted and on-boarded 90 new charities in the last six months. Their list of corporate sponsors continues to grow.

Hactar have been a vital partner to SuperCarers. As a startup, we need innovators, who challenge us and have the skill to deliver.

Case study

Now and again an idea comes along that deeply resonates with you; not only do you wish you’d thought of it yourself, but you wish you could somehow be a part of it. For us that was and is SuperCarers.

In October 2014 we were asked to advise on how to take an idea, backed by some very smart thinking and thorough research, through to a funded business — with everything that entails.

The SuperCarers investment prototype was researched, concepted, tested and validated, iterated, and built in three weeks. We were fortunate enough to be located near to a health incubator, so finding volunteers for product usability testing wasn’t terribly challenging.

The prototype charted two user journeys, and we even had a bit of time left over to imagine how elements of the product might look as a native application.

The ideas and principles at play with SuperCarers aligned with Hactar’s core purpose — to help make the world a better place — so much so that Hactar is now an equity partner.

The SuperCarers platform went live in spring 2015.
